Remembering Adriana 05-01-2020

We live in a time where  healthcare costs soar through the roof. That is on a normal day.  If you have CANCER, then you really have no other option, but to do whatever necessary to save yourself.  One is crushed with thousands of dollars worth of doctor's appointments, specialists, treatments and more. Having to also worry about cremating, and having a service for one's loved one all the while dealing with the death can be soul crushing. 

I am creating this gofundme for my dear friend Carlos as his mother, Adriana was diagnosed with lung cancer a little over a year ago that has unfortunately become metastasized causing her new prognosis to be terminal.

Adriana has gone through various stages of AGGRESSIVE chemotherapy as well as new and promising trials that gave the Leal family the ever-coveted hope that one day they could say--their mother beat cancer.

Adriana's condition is worsening daily, and we think she will be passing within the next few weeks. *EDIT: Adriana HAS PASSED EARLIER THIS MORNING 5/1/2020)I want everyone to understand that Carlos and his family have gone through hell trying to save the matriarch of their family. They never gave up, and persevered through whatever Adriana's medical team ever told them.

She is a beloved wife, mother of two, grandmother, daughter, aunt, best friend and most of all a WARRIOR. Day in and day out, she has been the light in this family's world. She has remained cheerful, positive, determined, and ever present for her family even through the darkest of hours. 

Although this is unbearably the worst feeling to have, losing a loved one, Adriana has told her family she does not want them to be sad, and cry for her. Those are the words of a woman who even while in hospice she is being strong for her loved ones. She is graceful, and we will remember her forever.

We live in a difficult time where the healthcare we need is for profit, and funeral home services are also very expensive. I want to also mention that due to COVID-19 no one in their family has been able to work because the risk of bringing the novel virus into their home and giving it to Adriana (This was right before the last diagnosis) has been too high. That is why I'm am creating this gofundme today. If you can please donate, anything would help. It would be forever appreciated.
