At the turn of the 21st century, there were over 160,000 Holocaust survivors residing in the United States. Today that number has dwindled to 37,000. Within a decade, the last of them will be gone, their memories and their stories fading as time passes - residing only with those who knew and loved them. These stories will completely disappear if we don’t take the time to ask and listen.
Much about the Holocaust has been studied and documented. But how can we preserve the voices, personalities, and humanity of those who experienced firsthand this defining tragedy of the twentieth century? How can we bear witness in a way that will retain the force and the determination of their survival?
What has been the long-lived experience of survivors and their families here in the U.S? What have the decades done to their memories, sadness, anger, and regret? We are committed to documenting these reflections of their long lives and preserving them for generations to come. Through filming and recording their voices, their words, and their faces, we hope to create a lasting memory that will live on in the archives of the museums and cultural institutions dedicated to preserving the lessons and experiences of the past….to educate, warn, and inspire us to remember both the triumphs and the tragedies.
Please consider funding this initiative. The funds raised will allow us to meet with survivors throughout the United States at their convenience, obtain rights to footage not shot or owned by us, and pay for the professional services of the crew involved.
In our continuing series Remember-Zachor, we bring you the remarkable story of George Sturm. George and his family witnessed the horrors of Krystal Nacht, faced imprisonment and persecution, escaping Nazi Germany with moments to spare to the safety of American soil. George flourished with an impressive career in music publishing, built a life and raised a family. Please watch and share this most amazing life experience.

Meet the Team
Amy Schrob
Amy has over three decades of experience as an editor, compositor, director, and visual effects artist. Utilizing the Adobe Creative Suite as well as Cinema 4D and more, she brings the art of motion design and compositing together with creative storytelling. Amy is always thinking one step ahead of the process. She also oversees the technical direction of our projects, so that all of our creative ideas can be realized without limitations. In addition to numerous short-format editorial works, Amy has completed two feature-length documentaries and is currently working on her third. Along with her business partner Scott, Amy co-owns ONE80 Visual - a multi-media design company located in Natick, MA.
Scott Pressler
Scott is known for his ability to create compelling and memorable media experiences with consideration to the innovative dissemination of information and the merging of creativity and technology. In his 30+ years in film and broadcasting, Scott has had extensive experience in applying design direction and creative strategies to large-scale media initiatives. He is the recipient of five National Emmy Awards for his work with NBC Sports and the Olympic Games on NBC and has received many other industry acknowledgments for his creative talents, including numerous awards for his work on the monumental ESPN SportsCentury project. He is currently working on his third feature-length documentary, Jewish in America.
John Mottern
In his 40+ years as a photo journalist, John’s work has been published in virtually all major newspapers and many prominent magazines around the globe. He has covered presidential campaigns, wars, natural disasters, terror attacks, social conflicts, major league sports, fashion & society events while being contracted to produce a wide variety of VIP portraits. He brings his editorial experience and eye to commercial, fashion, and corporate assignments - adding an authentic style sought after by his clients. He specializes in documentary filmmaking. He was a creative force in the making of Mark, What's the Plan? and has traveled the globe to capture amazing stories and visuals.
Rick Pressler
Rick is an experienced educator, writer, musician, and founder of public charter schools in New Jersey. As an educational consultant, he has collaborated with numerous public schools and educational organizations, including the New Jersey Department of Education, the New Jersey School Boards Association, the New Jersey Charter Schools Association, the Rutgers University Graduate School of Education, and the Hebrew Charter School Center. Rick has extensive experience as a writer/editor for both traditional publishers and technology companies, including Crown Publishers, Bellcore, AT&T, and CNET. He has served for the past eleven years as the Managing Editor of the Roosevelt Borough Bulletin, a local monthly newspaper.
Rick has a B.A. in Music from Haverford College and a Master's in Public Affairs and Politics from the Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University. He has served on numerous school and non-profit boards and is a member of the Education Committee and the Multi-Generational Klezmer Band at Congregation Kehilat Shalom in Belle Meade, NJ, a Reconstructionist Synagogue founded in 1983. As a guitarist, Rick is a regular performer at Reform and Reconstructionist synagogue services throughout the state.

The film explores the effects of social media on teens, and young adults, and the politically charged atmosphere of the last election.

Beauty for Ashes
A documentary about the island of Montserrat - a British overseas territory in the West Indies with a long and turbulent history. The island was devastated by the eruption of the Mount Soufriere volcano in 1997 and its recovery has been long and challenging.
How the funds will be spent:
The current cost of the legacy video as produced above is $10k. We will use the funds to travel and record as many survivors as possible and to complete at least 8 with the remaining subjects to be completed later. The ask is large, but this is and will continue to be an ongoing project with no end date. There are simply too many stories that need to be told.
