Remember Scott: Bench at Laurelhurst Park

I wanted to give an update. Friends and family attended a beautiful celebration of life event for Scott on April 6th. The room was full of people who Scott had touch with his kindness, humor, and talent.

Our GoFundMe account has raised $19,885. Kara has filed the paperwork with the City of Portland to start the process of dedicating a bench in Scott's memory at Laurelhurst Park.

Please spread the word of our GoFundMe campaign. Funds have been withdrawn for the cost of the bench dedication. The remaining funds will provide Kara, Chandler, and Wesley with financial support while they navigate the path ahead.

All of us who knew and loved Scott Kane are devastated by his passing. He was a truly bright light in our everyday lives. I have included below a message from his wife, Kara.

Many of you have already heard the heartbreaking news of Scott's passing. I want to thank you all for the outpouring of love. Scott shared so much love with the world, and now we feel all that love reflected back to us through your kind words and shared memories of Scott.

We've decided to honor Scott's memory by dedicating a park bench at Laurelhurst, a place where he loved taking our dog Stan for walks and bringing his grandson Miles to see the ducks.

Many of you have asked how you can help. If you feel moved to contribute, this is one meaningful way for us to come together in honoring the incredible person Scott was.
