John Rountree passed away on February 3, 2025, after a multi-year battle with often debilitating health issues. John bravely hid the severity of his illness from most, instead focusing on helping, counseling, and supporting others. As his Facebook page attests, John was valued and loved by people both nationwide and even internationally, especially for his volunteer work with the Popular Rotorcraft Association, his love of the general aviation community, and the encouragement and positivity he gave to others. The vast majority of John’s work was uncompensated.

John’s passing was sudden, and he left no monetary assets to cover his final expenses, including medical bills, funeral, and final accounting (taxes).
