TRAGIC DROWNING ON ROOSEVELT ISLAND

Our community is grieving the heartbreaking and unimaginable loss of 15-year-old Graceline Ilogene, who tragically drowned on Roosevelt Island on Friday, May 30, 2025. 

Graceline’s sudden loss has devastated her family, especially her mother, Guerline Jean, who is now faced with unimaginable grief and unexpected expenses. 

This GoFundMe is created to help cover funeral and memorial costs, allow Graceline’s mother time to grieve without the added burden of financial stress, and support related expenses like travel, burial, and unforeseen bills - as she navigates the deepest sorrow a parent can know.

Graceline was more than just a headline. She was a caring and thoughtful young woman who often helped her mother and those around her. She had a giving heart that touched the people closest to her.

Following Graceline’s passing, her mother was somewhat relieved to learn that Graceline had not entered the water in search of her cellphone, as it was later returned to her along with Graceline’s other belongings.
