My name is Daniella Paiz, and I am the 9th of Josie Savalas’ 17 grandchildren.

I am creating this GoFundMe to help support the funeral expenses that have unexpectedly fallen on her 5 children. We hope this effort can ease even a small part of the emotional and financial burden they are now facing, after the sudden and heartbreaking loss of their beloved mother.

What was supposed to be a routine outpatient procedure — something that should’ve taken no more than 45 minutes to an hour — turned into an unimaginable tragedy. Our world has been shaken. Our grandma was always so strong.

She fought with everything she had, but in the end, her heart grew tired. We find comfort in knowing she felt no pain, and she is now resting peacefully. We hold onto the hope that we will see her again one day.
