The La Soufrière Volcano in St. Vincent began erupting on Friday April 9, 2021 and continues to erupt daily. Over 20,000 residents have been evacuated from the northern end of the island and a national emergency has been declared. Water supplies have been intermittent, shelters are at risk of Covid spread, and both food and supplies are needed to assist evacuees who have either been displaced or lost their homes.
Our relief effort is divided into three phases:
1) Short term - raise funds for the purchasing and distribution of immediate emergency supplies (e.g. toiletries, shelter, bedding, clothing food, etc.).
2) Medium term - coordinate the shipment of relief supply barrels from our international offices and participating brokerages.
3) Long term - engage in the repair, rehabilitation, or replacement of homes lost due to ongoing volcanic eruptions.
Proceeds will be distributed to local shelters, relief agencies, and community non-profits.
