Unni - Need to move to family

Hi, my name is Unni and am permanently in a wheelchair due to my MS. My husband passed away 5 years ago with bowel cancer and I managed to live on my own for a year. Then through exhaustion I ended up in a nursing home. It has taken me a while of morning and getting stronger to get to being able to move back to my family. I have created this Gofundme account to help with covering the costs of relocating to live near my grandchildren as I have no savings and am unable to save due to the amount the nursing home charges .

I am moving from Tasmania to NSW to a NDIS and SDA purposely built unit in Woy Woy.

I require financial assistance with:

Flights for myself and carer

Shipment of my possessions

Van hire for 30days

Furnishing Unit & kitchen 

NDIS do not cover any of these costs.

Due to the fact that I am in a wheelchair and need extra assistance I need to be able to book flights and van hire before December.

Currently I reside in a nursing home on the North West Coast of Tasmania and due to the high cost of living in the home I am unable to save money to assist with the move.

Without the assistance of the funding I could not move back to the family I FaceTime with every Sunday. I have 3 grandsons age 9, 8, 6 and a granddaughter 17months. Although I have the most beautiful supportive friends here in the Kentish area, I do not have any family here in Tasmania, they all live in NSW and my new unit is in close proximity to my son and 4 gorgeous grandkids. I am only 56yrs old and living in an aged care facility and can’t wait to get into my own unit with NDIS help with my caring and to cuddle my grandkids. I have been approved and provided with a unit that is currently being built and I will be moving in Beginning of June 2023.
