If we have your attention and you're reading this, we need your help! Please support a community member in need of safe housing.
Phyillicia LaBoard, a Black woman who is a disabled Army veteran, has been a resident of Vermont for many years and most recently a resident of Milton. During her time in this state, she has experienced countless episodes of racial harassment. After being intentionally hit by a car driven by a woman who yelled racial slurs (see picture of Ms. LaBoard's damaged wheelchair above), she spoke out publicly about her experiences to expose the truth about racism in Vermont. She has been subjected to further racial harassment from neighbors and strangers ever since, including death threats. Ms. LaBoard is seeking relocation to a safer living situation for her health and security. She needs financial assistance to do so. The details of her move will be confidential due to safety concerns. While financial assistance cannot correct the injustices of this situation, it is a way to support our community member in need and to stand up for what is right. Please contribute what you can--no amount is too small-- and share this request with your friends.
