Relocation of three furry friends

Dear kind-hearted individual,

I created this fundraiser on behalf of my friend, Anissa, a queer multidisciplinary artist and aspiring chef who is currently studying culinary arts in Seoul, South Korea and her three furry friends.

I met Anissa a few years back during my time in Seoul, and have known them to be someone with a keen eye for art and much talent for culinary ventures. Unfortunately, Anissa’s journey in Seoul has become to an end sooner than expected.

Due to unforeseen financial circumstances, Anissa has to withdraw from the culinary program they’re currently in and have to return back to their hometown, Jakarta, Indonesia by early next year with their 3 cats (Dorothy, Nebula & Midnight).

The decision wasn’t easy for them. Like for any closing of a chapter, there is grief but also the need to accept the current circumstances. While it has taken a heavy emotional toll on them, they are hopeful that returning home will give them opportunities to be in a more stable place financially. However, while their journey here had to be cut short, they’ve also already achieved quite a lot including staging at a 1 Michelin star restaurant and participated in a master class camp run by CJ’s Cuisine-K.

Since Anissa has spent 12 years abroad, with the constant pressure in keeping their visa & legal status, unfortunately at times it has been difficult for them to save up as they have to cover their living costs and other expenses. This is much a result of visa policies on how much work can be done while studying.

With that said, this fundraiser was created to provide relief for the three furry friends and Anissa to help them in relocating back to their hometown with ease. There is already a lot on their plate, from emotionally processing everything, packing and preparing the cats for relocation. One person can only do so much on their own, and I hope that Anissa receives the additional support that they need at this time.

The total goal for this fundraiser will help cover the following (for a total of 3 cats):
