Relocating for safety and support

Update: due to lack of funds, Vesper made an alternative plan he thought would get him there. Unfortunately he was manipulated and is stuck in an unsafe situation that puts him further from his previous goal. We NEED gas money and the tire fixed before we can go get him. (400 miles away).

Update: with higher gas prices we expect moving expenses to Oregon to now be over $1k.

For the past year we have been living in our van (and a camper over the winter) while trying to relocate for a safer state, better jobs, community, weather, and healthcare access. We came back to Kansas "for the winter" and to tie up some things. It's time to leave again especially as another brutal summer gets underway and trans policies become even worse.

We are trying to move to Oregon by May. We've stayed here much longer than we intended to, in attempt to get enough money saved up for living expenses once we get there, and to cover some expenses for items that need to be repaired or replaced. We haven't been able to make as much as we hoped and most of our income is going to current living expenses, and trying to pay off credit card debt from hotel and travel expenses from Vesper's surgery.

We are fortunate to have a place to stay once we get there, but we won't have jobs and will have continuing expenses like phone, fuel, food, car insurance, and meds.

We desperately need to fix our vehicle AC before we move. $500

Vehicle registration $150- our van needs to be re-registered prior to moving. We had hoped to move before it was due so we could register it there, but unfortunately it didn't work out that way.

Tire replacement $200- we replaced 2 tires last fall, but we have 2 tires that are practically bald and unsafe for a cross country trip, 1 which has a screw in the side wall

Other expenses that we've been unable to prioritize:

New phone $200- None of our cell phones work reliably. My phone doesn't connect to the mobile network to make or receive phone calls. Matthew's phone doesn't always transmit audio during calls, and often freezes up. Vesper's phone does not work unless plugged in, and currently doesn't have a phone plan.

Laptop screen $95 - the screen on our laptop has been broken, and I can not sit at a traditional computer nor do we typically have space for one. Computer access for job and resource applications is typically a necessity these days. We can also use a laptop to create more graphics, welding plans, and YouTube videos- which have all been a fairly consistent, though small, income stream for the past few years. Vesper's computer is no longer holding a charge and is overheating so replacing the screen on mine is the most efficient way to fill this need.

Clothing $200+
We have not been able to consistently replace worn out clothing for a few years, and do not currently own any pants or shirts that do not have holes and/or stains. We also need to replace socks and underwear.

We expect moving costs to be approximately $750. Thankfully we will have a place to stay until we can get jobs and save up security deposits to move into our own place.

I don't expect to get this whole amount covered, but literally *anything* will help.

Thank you!
