A dear friend of mine is desperately needing to relocate from Colorado to Maryland. She and her two dogs are coming out of a traumatic, 6-year abusive relationship. We have reached out to every local victim's advocacy group for emergency housing options, but they all have long waitlists, or don't accept pets, and her lease is ending this weekend. We have run out of time. Moving halfway across the country is not cheap, but she will be so much better off living close to her support system.
