Update:
Hi everyone,
After talking to the Vet this morning and scheduling an appointment for next week. She has Luxating Patella in both of her back legs, along with arthritis. For now, we’re going to focus on managing her pain and keeping her comfortable.
We’re going to starting her on holistic treatments and laser therapy, and we’ll be doing everything we can to support her. She’s incredibly loved and spoiled, and I promise she’ll continue to have a happy, high-quality life. Thank you all so much for your support and kindness—it really means a lot.
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated and shared—your kindness truly means the world to us. ❤️
We’re currently in touch with the vet to take the next steps for Chai’s care. The first thing she’ll need is x-rays, but we’ve learned that won’t be so simple—Chai wasn’t having it! The vet team gave it their best shot, but came back to the room out of breath, laughing and saying, “Yeah… she’s definitely going to need to be sedated first.”
So next up: a return visit for sedation and x-rays. We’ll keep you all posted as things move forward. Thank you again for being part of Chai’s journey!
Help Chai Heal: Life-Saving Surgery for Our Tough Girl
Hi, my name is Desiree, and I’m reaching out for help for my dog, Chai. Chai isn’t your typical sweet and cuddly pup — she’s tough, overly protective, and yes, she can be a little mean at times. But she’s my dog, and I love her deeply. She’s loyal, smart, and full of personality — and she deserves a life without pain.
Unfortunately, due to poor breeding practices, Chai was born with severe issues in her back leg. Despite vet visits, medications, and ongoing care, her condition has worsened. At this point, amputation is the only way to relieve her constant pain and allow her to live a comfortable life.
She still tries to act like the fierce little boss she is, but it’s clear that the pain is wearing her down. The surgery, follow-up care, and rehabilitation will cost $2000, and I’m asking for help to make this possible.
Whether you can donate or simply share this fundraiser, I’m so grateful for your support. Chai may not be everyone’s favorite, but she’s family — and she deserves a chance to feel good again.
Thank you for caring.
Desiree & Chai
