Hurricane Relief: Truitt Elementary

Thelca B. is an EdD student and Principal of an elementary school in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. In September 2017, St. Thomas suffered tremendous damage during Hurricanes Irma and Maria.

Ms. B. has been sending reports to the EdD Program Director (Dr.  Geller) and her Dissertation Chair (Dr. Lee).  We asked Thelca B.  what is needed for her family and her school. She has provided us with a list that includes electric generator, solar lights, batteries, garbage bags, baggies, paper goods, school supplies and canned foods.

Funds will continue to be collected through 12/31/2017. Funds that have been collected have been  used to purchase and ship the requested goods.

Ms. B.  has shared the goods with the faculty and staff at the Truitt Elementary School and she, the faculty and the staff are so appreciative of the support they have received  from the Drexel community (this thank you picture is shared here with all who have given and taken the time to be aware of their recovery!)

Further funds collected will be used by Ms. B. for her school, faculty and staff, the children, their families and the greater good of the St. Thomas community!
