Hello, my name is Nice Marie Tarugo. I am a Irish- Filipino living in Dublin, Ireland, working as healthcare professional and completing my final year of law studies.

Today, I am reaching out not as a student or a worker, but as a concerned daughter of Iligan City - Philippines, with an urgent plea for help.

Last February 6, 2026, Tropical Storm Basyang devastated my beloved hometown, Iligan City, in Lanao del Norte, Philippines.

The severe floods have washed away homes, damaged critical infrastructure, and left my family, friends, and our entire community in crisis.

The situation on the ground is dire. There is a critical shortage of food and clean water. With power and water supplies cut off, businesses cannot operate, and people are struggling to survive. The scale of this disaster has overwhelmed local resources, and many affected families feel abandoned and hopeless, having lost everything.

My heart breaks for my hometown. I feel a profound responsibility to act. While I cannot be there in person, I am determined to channel support from our global community directly to those who need it most.
