Hi, I am Nikki I am one of Jim Adamek's friends. Myself and some of Jims's family and friends formed a group to try and raise some relief funds for Jims medical needs & expenses. Our good friend and family member had spinal surgery on 12/30/25 having 3 vertabre removed from his neck.

Since his surgery Jim has lost the use of his biceps & now needs a 24 hour caregiver.

Jim had been having severe balance issues, falling & not being able to lift himself back up. Once falling through the wall, just trying to get out of his bed. Along with balance issues, his fingers & hands started to curl inwards towards his body, than it started in his foot, it was progressing.

The Doctor ran tests that determined deteriation of the spinal column at the C5 & C6 level. Since his surgery he has developed what is called C5 Palsy.

As a result he is unable to raise his arms on his own.

He has been working hard with a physical & occupational therapy, at Marion-Joy Rehab Center in Wheaton, Illinos. 3 times a week. He has made much progress but still may need 5 more months of therapy.

He has been releying on family members to take him to phyical therapy. It is a long ride there and back.

His expenses have been great, weighing on his mind. He has been paying for out of pocket for a caregiver. This has been a tremendous strain on his mind & financial.

He is able to walk with a walker but you have to lift his arms onto the walker first. He needs assistance to use the bathroom, shower, brush teeth, getting in & out of bed, dressing, any personal care.

It was hope this helps him, he has been overwhelmed with medical and living expenses.

Jim lives alone, he tried to live with family but was unable to find a rehabilation center to help there and he is a big guy, it was too hard to even get him out of a chair, 3 family members trying to help.

Jim works hard at physical therapy, he has made improvements but still unable to use those muscles and cannot lift his arms. Jim needs our help, please help him with expenses relief so he can concentrate on his road to recovery. This weighs on his mind. Thank you very much.

Jim has depleated his savings already paying $17,000 out of pocket. Jim is looking at another 5 months of home health care. Each week costing $4,750.a week.
