Hi, my name is Meghan and I’m starting this fund as a relief for Katie and her daughters as they just lost their home and EVERYTHING except a few important items in the Gray Fire that has devastated the Medical Lake community. Katie and I met when we worked at Moneytree together years ago and I was blessed with the best friend anyone could ever ask for. I’ve watched her persevere through all obstacles and provide for her family with so much love and care! She has worked so, so hard for her home! Katie has three daughters, two of which do not live in the home anymore but still lost their home and likely things being stored. Her daughter Lena is preparing to start her Senior year in high school in a few weeks and has also been working all summer. She is now left with uncertainty and facing what should be a fun final year of high school with nothing. Katie has already been in contact with her insurance company but who knows how long that may take to settle. This fund will go towards basic needs, clothing, meals, potential housing costs until they find something more permanent, gas, bills and rebuilding the life as they knew it that was shattered in moments. If you know and love Katie and her family as much as I do, then you know how deserving they are for this relief!
*** UPDATE***
Katie has been able to find some comfort in a hotel the last few nights! She is hopefully securing a long term suite rental today for her, Lena and Jinx to stay in until more permanent housing can be secured. All of your donations are so greatly appreciated and are going directly to Katie to ease the cost of this housing, meals and replacing clothing! Thank you so much and please continue to share as no one know how long insurance will take to reimburse for living costs or how long she will need a long term rental. ❤️
