The Covid-19 pandemic has affected all of us in an unprecedented way. Like many of you, we are no longer doing business as usual. We are self-quarantined, avoiding gatherings and practicing social distancing as part of our social responsibility to keep our city safe. Unfortunately, these measures have led to a severe impact on the catering and event industry.
As cater-waiters, we understand that this industry is cyclical. There is a time to make money and a time to tighten our belts, and we have learned to manage our cash flow accordingly. Many of us live off our reserves from December, and look forward to resuming business in the spring. This is no longer the case with everything canceled through June. We are a resourceful group of people who have always found a way to make it work, but this time is different. As independent contractors, we are not on anyone’s payroll and do not qualify for unemployment. We are not part of the restaurant industry and will get no assistance there either. We have no safety net.
With your help, this fund will provide rent assistance and support daily living expenses. Any amount that you can contribute would be greatly appreciated.

I have set up this relief fund on behalf of the group of cater-waiters who have been working with me over the past several years to provide professional private in-home catering services across New York City.
The goal is to get $1000 to as many of my team as possible, and the greater the amount raised for this fund, the more people we can include to benefit from your contributions.
