Relief for Victims of Souza-Baranowski Attack

Donation protected
Hi,
I am looking to raise some money for my coworkers and friends that are victims of the recent HEINOUS attacks on multiple Correction's Officers at the Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center on September 18th, 2024. I have set this up also to allow anyone who works at a different facility than Souza who wishes to donate as well the opportunity to do so as well as the general public. I would like us as a community to be able to provide these families with some relief right now to allow them the time they need to rest and recover without worrying about the financial strain of medical bills, loss of income, food, childcare issues or whatever other unexpected expenses may arise during this time. I know times are tough for everyone right now so please do not feel obligated but just know that every little bit helps these people who dedicate their lives to public safety every day in a very tragic time. These Officers put their lives on the line every single day when they walk into that building, or any Department of Correction facility. It is absolutely disgusting the way the state has let staff safety become the least of their concern and as a result we have seen a large uptick in staff assaults by the Inmate Population. The Massachusetts Department of Correction has not even issued a public apology on their Social media pages that a tragedy like this was even able to take place and I believe that in and of itself speaks VOLUMES as to how much they care about us as HUMAN BEINGS. The Department believes we are just a number. WE ARE PEOPLE. WE ARE PEOPLE WITH FAMILIES AND WE ARE A FAMILY. None of us deserve to walk in to work every day and wonder if it will be us who is being taken out in an ambulance with a punctured lung, multiple stab wounds, black eyes and the list goes on. We also shouldn't question whether or not us or our fellow Brother/Sister Officers will be leaving an 8 or 16 hour shift in a body bag. I am not only deeply saddened by this but I am angry, as I know all of us who work at Souza or for the Department are since we have been telling the administration this was going to happen for MONTHS with ZERO ACTION TAKEN and falling on deaf ears. We can not imagine the long road ahead of these officers so let us help lighten the load where we can.
