Last week, we were saddened by the loss of Urken, one of our memorable sherpas from our time on Everest. Urken was instrumental throughout our entire experience on Everest, from installing a weather station on the balcony to his light heartening and uplifting spirit as we faced numerous challenges and excitements working closely together on our high-alpine projects with National Geographic.
As we pay our respects to Urken and this gigantic loss to his Nepalese community, we also want to share a tribute to all of the Sherpas who not only risk their lives making our experiences run smoothly, but also push themselves across their own endeavors. Our thoughts are with the friends and family of Urken as we commemorate his loss.
Please donate any amount to help support Urken's family as they recover from the loss of such an incredible son, sherpa and community member. Mark Fisher will be heading to Nepal at the end of February and plans to deliver our gift directly to Urken's family.
