Relief for Retired Couple's Cancer Battle
Donation protected
I am retired, and my wife has been undergoing treatment for cancer for over a year. This has involved five surgical procedures and now involves radiation therapy. It is possible that we could be seeing light at the end of the tunnel, depending on how well the radiation works, but she has exhausted her insurance and I have run through my 401k's, and we now have only my meager Social Security to live on. She may (or may not) be finished her treatment in another month, but I am deep in debt for the first time in my life, and neither she nor I has family that can help us. Further, we still have the responsibility of caring for her mother. My wife has been optimistic until lately, but now she (and I ) are discouraged because unless I can find some financial relief, both our lives will be under a shadow from constantly increasing debt from now on.
All money received will be used strictly for debt relief and future medical procedures if they are necessary. The amount that we need seems overwhelming, and larger amounts will at least help stop interest increasing on the debts, but we are grateful for any amounts.
My wife does not wish her picture to be posted, as she is a very private person, but the picture is of me in happier days years ago.
