On December 4th, 2025 I experienced a heart attack which left me hospitalized temporarily and placed on a mandatory work leave. After a few days I was cleared to leave the hospital but returned home just in time to get trapped by the atmospheric river that pummeled the Pacific Northwest. This disaster has added to the unexpected stress and disruption during an already medically fragile time.
I am unable to work until February at least and have sought help through my local community support organizations which are unfortunately overwhelmed helping other victims of this disaster. I do not qualify for paid leave as I began my job recently nor assistance through my state offices until I have an eviction notice in my hand, an outcome I sincerely hope to avoid. The flooding has also impacted my roommate’s ability to make up for my shortfall and is facing the same fear of eviction if we cannot make up the lost wages.
I am asking for short-term support to cover a month of rent and living expenses while we look for a more reliable solution. This assistance would help relieve the immediate financial pressure and stress on my already fragile health. Any amount helps and sharing this fundraiser is deeply appreciated. Thank you for your kindness, support and understanding during this time, it means more than I could ever express.
