Relief for Queen of New York after House Fire

At 2am on Wednesday, March 8th, Crystal Walthall's home was destroyed and the building condemned after a 5 alarm house fire in Yonkers, New York. All of her belongings were lost and nothing was salvageable. Our Sister in solidarity is in need of long-term support while she is without housing, and as she begins to build again.

Crystal serves her community as the Executive Director of Faith in New York, a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to the transformation of the New York Metropolitan area through faith-based organizing, policy change, and movement building for the work of justice and liberation.

This fearless woman organizes for the equity and justice of those who are formerly incarcerated, immigrants and refugees, fair housing and education policies, as well as workers' rights. Even on the night of the fire, she helped children and other neighbors down the fire escape before securing her own safety. It's only fitting that her own community of New Yorkers, Movement Leaders, and Siblings in the fight for Liberation give back towards someone who's always pouring out, especially in such a dire emergency.
