Update -

Meaty boy passed away 3/14/26 so I am turning off donations. Thanks you to everyone who helped us through this awful time.

My name is Mimi & our super sweet, 8-year-old (we think) pitbull, Meaty boy, is going to have an exploratory surgery that will hopefully find an obstruction or whatever is making him sick. He has been to 2 different vets this week with a total of 5 visits. He’s had multiple X-rays, an ultrasound, been pumped full of fluids 3 times, is on antibiotics for a sheath infection, and they still don’t have an answer, other than his intestines are compacted on the X-rays. He went from being his normal, loving, happy self to a scared, confused, sick, weak boy out of nowhere. He can hardly get around; he has to be carried in and out of the car, and now from his bed to the grass as well. He has not passed a bowel movement in at least 5 days, and he has lost some control of his bladder. I was starting to lose hope and coming to terms with saying goodbye to him, but the vet feels confident that he will get better after she gets a good look inside. I don’t want to see my boy suffer, but I also owe it to him to try every avenue before going down that path. He is the best dog, and I don’t even deserve him. He saved me, and now I need to save him ❤️

My fiancé and I have depleted our finances, paying thousands for an upcoming surgery of mine, and our wedding that is set for later this year. We typically can handle some financial strain, but with the recent expenses, we are starting to feel it. This week cost over $1500, and his surgery will be $3000-$4000. We are just hoping to find a little relief and avoid charging more to credit cards. I have also started donating plasma for a little extra cash, but it won’t be enough.
