As many of you may already know, Laura and Thomas experienced a house fire on the May long weekend; Laura was able to rescue Ralphy from the house, so he is okay. After a short hospital stay due to smoke inhalation, Laura is physically okay, but both she and Thomas are processing the trauma from this scary event.

Due to the intense amount of smoke damage, they will be displaced from their home for months - at least four. Many of their belongings are not salvageable and although insurance will help, it won't be nearly enough, especially in the interim when they need to purchase items imminently. They have been rebuilding their lives together in this home for the last four years, so this fire is devastating and overwhelming.
