Family and friends, it is with a heavy heart that I share this news. My beautiful niece, Adeline Josephine Acosta, has gained her wings to be with the Lord. Josie was born on July 4th, four months shy of her due date . My beautiful, strong, amazing sister Delilah underwent an emergency C-section, risking not only her life but Josie's.
As Delilah recovers from surgery, Josie was fighting day in and day out. She fought a battle to stay with her mommy and daddy, but ultimately, God had already chosen her to go home to Him. Josie fought for 16 days. She was strong, she was relentless, and she was brave! Our little Josie gave us 16 days of her presence and will continue to be a guardian angel for her mommy and daddy.
I was able to see her on July 19th, a day before her passing. I prayed, I begged, and I pleaded for God not to take her away from my sister. But in doing so, I also told Josie, "Josie baby, if this is too much for you, it's okay." I left that hospital not knowing what was to come.
Family and friends, I do not know how to console my sister and Ivan at this time. What do you tell new parents once their first baby is gone? What I can do is take this financial weight off their shoulders that they should never have had! Now, I ask for your donations during this time of need, so that Delilah and Ivan have one less thing to worry about.
