Relief for Jamie Sullo after the devastating Eaton Fire.

With so many people suffering in our community, it can be overwhelming to know who or where to begin to help. As many of our friends know, Jamie Sullo, like so many others, lost everything to the Eaton Fire. He is a 63-year-old local, and we are thankful that Jamie is safe, but the fire has taken his home, belongings, and perhaps worst of all, irreplaceable photos and memories built over the years.

Like so many others in Altadena, he didn't have time to evacuate with much more than a toothbrush, sleeping bag, and the clothes on his back. As we begin to heal and move forward from this trauma, it has become evident that some people in our community just move along quietly day after day and don't have the resources in terms of fundraising or finding the help and support they need.

Years ago, Jamie supported me while I was severely injured and on my own long road to recovery. Jamie has always been the kind of person to give selflessly to others, whether it's lending a helping hand, hosting a free yoga class, sharing a kind word, or simply being there when needed. It only feels right that we should return the favor however we can. If you know Jamie, you know he is the kind of person who would give you the shirt off of his back.

He is well-loved by our community, and I hope we can come together and provide a boost of hope and stability for a great friend in the midst of this tragedy.

Every act of kindness, no matter how focused or seemingly small, makes a tangible difference. Whether it is a single dollar donation or simply sharing this campaign. We are not solving every problem, but we are able to change one life. That has a ripple effect throughout our community.

Thank you, and a special thanks to all the people who have helped my sister and countless others through this crisis. I love you all.

Altadena will never be what it once was, but I hope something beautiful rises from the ashes, and we can continue to see the same familiar faces.
