I've created this GoFundMe to support my sister Nicole Pittman during a transitional period in her life. All funds will go directly to Nicole, and any support would be greatly appreciated.
Here is her story
Hi everyone,
Earlier this year, I experienced an unexpected and difficult transition. In January 2025, I lost my federal job due to the current administration and widespread layoffs affecting international relations and public health workers. This occurred while I was still completing my Master of Public Health degree at Drexel.
Despite this setback, I persevered and completed my degree in June 2025 with honors, becoming a Dornsife Global Development Scholar and a member of the Delta Omega Honor Society (Beta Omega Chapter). Unfortunately, ongoing changes in public health funding have made securing new employment extremely challenging, even with education and professional experience. Since January, I have applied to over 300 jobs.
I recently accepted a full-time position at a school as a dedicated aide and continue bartending and picking up jobs as I can. I am asking for short-term support to help cover housing, utilities, and transportation until I receive my first few paychecks from my new role. This support would allow me to start my new job with stability after a long period of uncertainty.
Any contribution, no matter the amount, would help relieve immediate financial stress and allow me to recoup some of my losses from this year's financial hardships. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page or offering encouragement truly means the world to me.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any support you’re able to give. I’m incredibly grateful.
With love and appreciation,
Nicole
