Many of you have been following the news of the devastating "Camp Fire" that has ravaged the community of Paradise, California. It has destroyed over 8,000 homes; including the homes of every one of my intimidate family members. Recalling my family's terrifying escape, and knowing that so many people have died in this fire, I am overcome with gratefulness that my family alive.
There is no doubt about it; this fire has knocked us down and has changed the community of Paradise forever, but it will not keep us down. We are now set with the challenging task of rebuilding our little community and we will do so and be stronger than ever before.
However, just like many others, my family needs support in getting back on their feet. There's my mother, the hardest working person I have ever known who was actually beginning to think that retirement could be an option for her. There's my dad, who has struggled to land on his feet after challenging circumstances of life, and there's my sister, newly married, learning to be a step mother, and expecting a baby in April. They all need a little support and any amount will help them.
This experience has taught me that Paradise is more than a town. It's feeling that lives in us all. I am now, more than ever before, so proud to be from Paradise.
Thank you so much and God bless you!
