Relief for Hailey!!

Hello family & friends….

We’re writing this on behalf of our amazing sister, her devoted husband, and their sweet baby girl;

A week ago our sister was admitted to the hospital after 5 long weeks of excruciating pain. Her unknown diagnosis left us terrified and baffled. Today, we have learned she is suffering from a severe neurological anti-body attack. This has caused her to lose the ability to walk, sleep, and care for herself and her 10 month old baby girl. The nerve pain shocks her entire body causing her to scream in agony every 10 minutes. This has left her without sleep for over a month. The amazing team of doctors (neuro, podiatry, pain management, anesthesiology, and general surgery) at TMC have worked tirelessly around the clock to attempt to find her true diagnosis and provide us with answers of what has taken over our poor sisters body. Her life has come to a complete halt and we all fear that this will alter her life forever.

Besides the obvious physical toll that this has taken on her and her entire family, there is an extreme mental component that she is suffering through 24/7. I’m sure you all can imagine a stay at home mother abruptly being separated from her 10 month old baby is unfathomable. Extreme sleep deprivation has increased her inability to cope with the physical pain, as well as the mental burdens.

The doctors have come together to develop a treatment plan which we all hope will give her relief and quality of life back. After failed attempts of IVIG infusions, she has started plasmapheresis. This procedure is symbolic of dialysis and can be a long and tedious process. Yesterday, she underwent a surgical procedure to place a port in her neck to receive treatment. This will take place for a minimum of every other day for the next 10 days in the hospital. She will then be re-evaluated for further treatment.

What she is going through is something indescribable and you would never wish it upon your worst enemy. We could never put a price tag on our sisters life, however, the financial stress has begun to sink in. When our niece was born, our sister made the decision to stay home full-time and care for her baby, making her husband the sole provider. With the multiple specialists performing extensive trials of treatments on her to find answers and provide relief to her pain, the exorbitant medical bills have quickly piled up.

They have already endured an extended stay at the hospital and her future time there is unknown.

We are reaching out in hopes to alleviate some financial burden on a young family. If you are able to give a small donation to their family, it would mean the absolute world. We know todays environment is so challenging and difficult, however, if a monetary donation is not feasible, we ask that you please share their story and keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
