I was born and raised in Vietnam, and left the country in 1986 when I was 18 years old. I did not return for a visit for another 30 years. So many emotions and memories came rushing back. 
The central part of Vietnam has been hit by many big storms. Many are dead or missing. Vietnam is still a poor country, especially for those who live in the countryside. There was massive flooding, and most of those that lost everything have no means of replacing anything. Just surviving day to day is a challenge, right now.
I recently learned that a group of my friends from South Vietnam are planning a rescue trip to the areas hit the hardest, to provide food and basic necessities. 
Any funds raised will be forwarded directly to them.
I know times are tough for so many of us, these days, and asking you to help people suffering from a natural disaster, that you'll never meet, an ocean apart can feel like a stretch. I understand if you are compelled to help, but simply can't financially, right now, so please consider forwarding this.
