On the night of September 30, 2025, a powerful 6.9-magnitude earthquake struck Cebu, with its epicenter near Bogo City. The intense shaking and dozens of aftershocks left at least 69 people dead, hundreds injured, and nearly 27,000 families displaced. Homes, churches, and community buildings collapsed, while roads, bridges, and utilities suffered heavy damage. Hospitals in Bogo City were overwhelmed, and many families are now without basic necessities. Power, water, and communication services remain disrupted, and ongoing aftershocks and heavy rains have made relief efforts even more challenging.
