Thank you for visiting our Go Fund Me page. Let me tell you a little about my dad, Carlos Perez. My dad is my hero. I have never seen my dad sick, let alone hospitalized. My whole life I thought there wasn't anything that could hurt him. My dad has never been a selfish person and has always put everyone else's needs before his with a smile on his face. If he couldn't make you laugh then no one could. On April 6, 2018, a day that we should have been celebrating turned into our worst nightmare. I received a call that Friday morning which informed me that my father, the strongest man I know, was unresponsive and had been in an accident. After an hour, what seemed to be the longest hour of my life, I finally located my dad in a hospital in Illinois. I picked up my sister, my son, and boyfriend and rushed to the hospital. The drive there felt like an eternity. All I could think about was "How am I going to live without him?". I found my dad lying in a hospital bed, what appeared to be lifeless, and my heart sunk to the bottom of my stomach. The hospital began testing and trying to piece together what had happened to my dad but all the test came back normal, he was healthy even. However, my dad was still unresponsive and had to be intubated to survive the night. We later found out that my dad had multiple seizures and the cause was unknown. My dad spent a total of 6, agonizing, days in the hospital and still the doctors could not make sense of why he wasn't back to his normal self. The hospital then transferred my dad to a rehab facility and all my dad wanted was to go home. Currently, the doctors are still researching the cause of this tragic incident. Hopefully they can make sense of it all and provide him with a plan so this nightmare does not occur again. My dad seemed to be coming back to me little by little but still just isn't the same and continues to deal with the complications of his condition. Doctors orders is to remain free of any heavy machinery, which includes driving, and will be out of work for a minimum of 6 months; if he remains seizure free. As everyone knows, life and bills don't stop under any circumstance and in my dad's case, he is solely responsible for more than his current income can afford. I am reaching out to family and friends who can help and donate to assist him in meeting his day-to-day expenses and needs. We appreciate all your donations and for taking the time to help his cause.
