Relief for Abril after winning back her health

Hello, my name is Rosenda and I’m asking for your help so my sister can get back on her feet after a couple of very rough medical months that ended up putting her on a 125,000 dollars debt.

She is a 38 years old woman and she has the pleasure of being able to develop a job that allows her to support her 11-year-old son and our 79-year-old mother.

Thank God she has always been a free, brave, adventurous and hard-working woman. Life has faced her with different kinds of emotional and social challenges that have allowed her to grow and and always move forward.

In these last months, God granted her the grace to face one of the greatest challenges. To fight for her life, going in and out of the hospital for almost 2 months after a simple surgery that her body required (gallbladder removal surgery) which became very complicated.

God and the universe have always allowed her to be unique in several ways and this simple medical procedure, for her, was no exception.

On her first surgery (Cholecystectomy) she was fortunate enough to fall in 1% of the cases that turned this procedure complicated. After several days with a seemingly normal very high pain (who knows how to measure the pain, who tells you what is normal to feel?) It resulted in a severe biliary fistula that led to a surgery known by its acronym as ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography). Another relatively simple procedure, with a 2% complication related to Pancreatitis, in order to solve the problem that apparently was caused by surgery # 1. And then again she was fortunate to be part of the 2% and enter the emergency room with a case of Severe Pancreatitis that caused an infection of a bacterium that escaped to the whole body, impossible to fight on its own due to inflammation due to pancreatitis and previous procedures that caused anemia and sepsis, causing the greatest pain she has ever felt in her life, allowing her to be hospitalized for 18 days.

The antibiotic treatment she had to receive intravenously even for 10 days after leaving the hospital, did not make her feel any better, nor did it fix the initial problem of the biliary fistula, but rather, they helped fight bacteria to reduce the level of infection of her body, to be able to stabilize all her levels and to continue looking for the solution to the problem that was making her sick.

In the search for the right doctor, the level of infection and sepsis returned to her body, along with fever and spasms of pain for several days until the universe put the right doctor on our way with the right equipment to understand her case and discover that she has an abnormality in the liver (How i mentioned, God made her also special on the inside! ✨): a third duct, connected to the main duct of the left lobe of the liver, which is connected to 3 sectors of the 4 that correspond to this lobe, which was injured by accident on her surgery # 1. Proceeding to her # 3 surgery (the number one in importance and risks of complications) in one month and a half, a Hepatochojejunostomy, a major, invasive and complicated surgery, which, Thank God and her treating doctors, was carried out with success! Achieving after 2 months, to stop the fever, control the infection and begin a recovery process that will take from 6 months to 1 year with monthly medical check-ups within this period. And with the joy of having to visit her doctor every year for further studies and medicines for the rest of her life. With an expectation of being able to completely resume her lifestyle at 100% in the medium-long term.

As some of you know my sister is an expert in hospitality for show business and advertising, freelance. Unfortunately for Covid, how for most of us, her industry was closed or without much action for 12 months, resuming activities casually from January, when she had the opportunity to rejoin with work teams and colleagues and as a team, create the magic of what they are passionate about. Her participation in these projects is diminished for the moment by her state of health that will not allow her to collaborate in the magic for the next 6 months and then with medical studies and checking her levels and progress on her health the doctor will tell us when the time is right for her to go back to action. In the meantime she needs to wait and give her body time, love and patience to recover.

This is where we need your help!

In this surprising and difficult path, she has found herself accompanied every day and in all the actions of family and some friends. Always supported, cared for, loved and motivated to get better.

However, due to lack of means, she does not have insurance for major medical expenses and her debts at this time amount to almost $ 2,450,000.00 pesos (approximately $130,000 USD) in medical consultations, medicines, hospitals and medical fees.

For all this we decided to create this fund raising for her, because I am sure if we all can help a little we can make her world better and this will allow her to keep making my world and the world of all of those that surround her better in her own wonderful way! We are convince that what goes around comes around and we always hope that it is love!
