Relief and Aide for Victims of Typhoon Odette
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Abbey Batino. My cousin Jeiby Pelegrino and I are fundraising for our family and friends in the Philippines who have been affected by super typhoon "Odette." The typhoon hit the region of Southern Leyte on Thursday, December 16, 2021. In the unavoidable disaster, it wiped out all the homes along the coastal area, including several family members. Roughly 65 people of the Agay-ay community are currently homeless and taking refuge at the local school, church, and recreation center. They are awaiting help from the local rescue teams, but with so much wreckage on the island, it is taking longer than expected.

In the spirit of the holidays, we are asking for your help. With the money that you donate, we will send it immediately to provide food and water to all those in need in barangay Agay-ay. Since the nearby towns are also low on resources, we have family members traveling from Manila that will be delivering the food and water. We hope that the money will provide enough food and water for everyone until relief from the government arrives.
It has been a few years since the last time we've visited this beautiful place that we call home, but we will never forget the warmth and hospitality of the people in this town. Any amount will help!

Agay-ay is circled. This was taken before the typhoon made landfall.
For context, we've included before and after photos to see the magnitude of damage that was done.

This is the school. It's made out of concrete, so it survived, but all the trees are gone.
