Hello, my name is Christopher. Bob is truly amazing he told me there was literally hundreds of request for a Gofundme and you guys inspired me to drop my pride and accept some help I'm someone who tends to carry everything inside and fight my battles in silence. I always try to stay strong for my family, but sometimes the weight of everything we face becomes overwhelming. It has taken me a long time to ask for help, but today I'm setting my pride aside because my son's needs come before my own.
Our lives changed forever the day Oliver was born.
During Oliver's delivery, a vacuum device was used. The delivery became a medical emergency. Oliver was born without a heartbeat and required extensive resuscitation. After approximately 10 minutes, doctors were able to bring him back. He was immediately rushed to the NICU, where he spent the first 18 days of his life.
Because of the lack of oxygen at birth, Oliver was diagnosed with severe Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE) and cerebral palsy. He also suffered a brachial plexus injury and a broken clavicle during delivery.
From that moment on, our family's life became centered around giving Oliver every opportunity to succeed. He has spent countless hours in speech therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy. At only 8 months old, he underwent neurosurgery, and now his medical team has informed us that he needs another surgery.
Today, Oliver attends intensive therapy through Phoenix Children's Hospital seven days a week, along with five days of services through Arizona's Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD). Every therapy session is another opportunity for him to gain strength, improve his abilities, and continue defying the odds.
As parents, we will never stop fighting for him.
The greatest challenge we face right now is transportation.
We do not have a reliable vehicle, yet Oliver's appointments cannot wait. We walk in the Arizona heat to get him to his therapies, specialist appointments, and wherever he needs to be. Some days are incredibly exhausting, but missing a session is never an option. We do whatever it takes because every appointment matters for Oliver's future and every step forward is hard-earned.
We are asking for help to purchase a dependable vehicle so we can safely transport Oliver to his therapies, surgeries, specialist appointments, and the ongoing care he depends on. Having reliable transportation would remove one of the biggest obstacles our family faces and allow us to focus on what matters most—helping our son continue to grow and thrive.
If you are able to donate, no matter the amount, you are helping a little boy continue his fight and helping a family that refuses to give up. If you are unable to donate, sharing our story would mean more than words can express.
Thank you for taking the time to read Oliver's story, for your prayers, your kindness, and your support. We believe that with faith, determination, and the generosity of others, we can continue giving Oliver every opportunity to live the fullest life possible.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Christopher, Oliver, and Family
