Update... our poor town of San Juan del Sur got beat up by storm #Nate.
My Name is Maria Gabriela Castillo - I am a Co-Owner of RE/MAX in San Juan del Sur. As a reuslt of many people asking me to coordinate assistance I have decided to create relief packages for people in surrounding communities. The funds for this GoFundMe page will be dispersed to me directly and I will provide pics of purchases here on the GoFundMe page.
For now, these are some pics I took as I walked down the beach of San Juan del Sur in Nicaragua on Friday Oct 06, 2017. I ask for your prayers for all the people who lost possessions, businesses and their loved ones.
What is needed:
Dry canned foods and all Non Perishables. Personal Hygene - soap, toothpaste, toilette paper, female Hygene products. About $40 packages
Water purification systems to avoid sickness - $40 for a Filtron with 2 buckets - we have Ordered 100 units, these are ready for pick up on Nov 10th
Sleeping foam mattress - $35.
“Tijera” aka Rural Nicaraguan made Cots: $30 - we have already purchased 80 units and delivered them on Oct 14th.
2 burner kitchen with 25lbs propane tank approximately $80 as many we can purchase by Nov 10th
Construction Bonus for families - to be discussed with the Local Alcaldia for due process with left over monies we hope to get many small homes built on stilts - locally known as Tambo.
itects and engineers would like to donate plans for small homes that are Hurricane / Tremor safe, we need to teach locals how to build safe homes! Reinforced Roofs, strong bases for homes structural beams etc...
