Release shame and receive abundance

The Ritual and Spell:

The collective purpose of this ritual is to release shame and receive abundance, specifically the shame that causes the demonization and dehumanization of trans, non-binary, and gender-expansive people, and keeps us from experiencing the abundance of joy, pleasure, and wellness we deserve.

I am burning and tending to an abundance candle for 66 days made by Snakes for Hair starting on my birthday April 5th, 2023 to June 12th, 2023. I invite you to participate as simply or extravagant as you’d like —- at your altar, or if that’s not your thing while sipping your morning coffee on the porch. Your participation can be as often as you’d like throughout the next 66 days as well.

With this ritual, I call in the abundance and support I need to write a healing book for trans, nonbinary, and gender-expansive people — Release Shame and Receive Abundance: A Healing Book for Trans, Nonbinary, and Gender Expansive Humans.

I invite you to call in the abundance you deserve and release the shame that may be blocking you from receiving it. I invite you to create a personal prayer (all expressions welcomed, not just written!) of what this is for you. Be consistent in a way that is true for you throughout the next 66 days.

The truth is: we are all being significantly impacted by the way our current systems do not center care for trans and non-binary people. Through this ritual, let us reclaim prayer. Let us call in and receive abundance — a creative unlimited state where we cannot only name our needs, desires, and dreams but be met in them. Let us imagine a world where we can be our most true, honest, and authentic selves without having our egos threatened by another’s empowerment. Let us imagine a world where we each are celebrated for the unique and sacred medicine we individually carry.

The vision guiding this ritual:

Imagine with me a world where interdependence thrives. Where we aren’t expected to be everything. Where we aren’t expected to do everything. Where we aren’t expected to show up as a monolith. Where we lead with curiosity and the intention to understand, and even when we don’t understand, we accept.

Imagine with me a world where care is front and center. Where we listen to our bodies and choose what is right for ourselves rather than project what we think is right onto others. Where we value the magic each soul carries and stop comparing it on a scale of better or worse. Where we release binary ways of thinking and expand to make room for our own North Star, with deep respect.

Imagine with me a lusciously abundant world. Where scarcity no longer can grow because our focus is on the bounty of the collective. Where we believe, uplift, and celebrate each other’s wishes. Where we no longer seek to have control and power over others because we are deeply invested in trusting divine source. Especially the divine source within ourselves, where we can access our deepest empowerment, and surrender to it.

Who I am:

I am Goddexx (They/Goddexx). I am a Full Spectrum Coach, Performance Artist, Brujx, Priestexx, and Author. I am trans, two-spirit, fluid, and non-binary.

I’ve been on my gender transition journey for nearly a decade, and since then I have begun to bridge the gaps within my full spectrum experience, spirituality, and sexuality.

I grew up in an extreme Catholic household where I was taught that being trans — or anything that deviated from “normal” — was a sin. I repressed a lot of who I was through various addictions and harmed myself and those around me severely in the process.

I am now sober and have been in recovery for the last 6 years. I am also currently coming into a deeper understanding of what it means to be highly sensitive, empathic, and disabled in a world that shames all of these ways of being.

I am a full spectrum human bridging and discovering how all the different aspects of myself are in relationship to each other. I am a trans and non-binary human reclaiming spirituality, relationship, and ritual. I create prayer through conversations, poetry, performances, affirmations, wisdom texts, and by supporting others through their personal spiritual and relationship journeys.

My live performance poetry show, “Butterfly,” based on my book, has toured nationally and brought artistic visibility to thousands around the intersections between gender, sexuality, and spirituality. You can view a sample of my performance here

I have held recovery and healing spaces for hundreds of QTIBIPOC sober and sober curious folks in partnership with Gabrielle Rodriguez.

The prayer:

To be trans is to be a shapeshifter.

Being a shapeshifter is a sacred gift.

Do not let others tell you/them otherwise.

To be trans is to be a prayer manifest in this world.

Being a prayer is a beautiful blessing.

Do not let others silence you/them.

To be trans is to be infinite.

To be infinite is a divine transcendence.

Do not let others contain you/them.

Trans people are the release of outdated beliefs around humanity.

Trans people are the limitless ways beauty can take form.

Trans people are worthy of being.

This campaign is an invitation to not only support my work and livelihood as a Trans Nonbinary person but participate in a collective prayer abundance ritual around releasing our shame. This ritual is one where, as we make our offering, we are invited to name that which brings us the most shame and ask the divine/spirit/Goddexx/source/insert deity name for it to be released and transmuted to radical acceptance. This ritual is one where we ask the divine to transmute our shame and the shame of those who are abusing their power to help us all access a new wave of equity and equilibrium. This ritual is one where we embrace our unique power so we may embody and share it with the full spectrum of humanity.

I hope for this release shame and receive abundance ritual to be an opening for the miracles we each individually and collectively need and desire, which may be blocked by shame. May it create bridges of forgiveness, compassion, and acceptance within ourselves and each other.

Writing has kept me alive and empowered me to release shame and step into my becoming.

Release is the first phase of spiritual transformation in my first poetry book Butterfly. It’s also the next book I am birthing, which is all about releasing shame. The funds from this ritual will support:

-The creation of my next book, Release Shame and Receive Abundance: A Healing Book for Trans, Nonbinary, and Gender Expansive Humans — a book of prose, poetry, prayer, and memoir that will provide healing messages and affirm the abundance that trans, nonbinary, and gender-expansive people inherently carry. Funds will support: my time commitment + investment for writing and paying all collaborators — editors, a designer, a book doula for proposal, etc.

- 2 fully paid scholarships for QTIBIPOC who desire my mentorship as a full-spectrum coach.

-A community ritual space for contributors at the end of this campaign to close the spellwork. Details TBD

-Me slowing down and honoring my natural rhythm. Being in integrity with Full Spectrum Coaching as I navigate housing stability + a care team

My commitments to this collective ritual are as follows:

-I will hold a personal ceremony and rituals on the Full Moon in Libra (my birthday on April 5) where I will pray and finish burning an Elegua candle and start the abundance candle. I will make my offering for forgiveness, compassion, and release.

-I will light the candle every day for 66 days following the ceremony, offering the original release shame and receive abundance prayer.

-I commit to write one new prayer/poem/prose/memoir piece each day to celebrate and uplift and provide a healing message for trans and gender expansive people — some of these will be included in the book and instagram.

-I will close with a collective ritual around shame in the summer. Details tbd.

Why are you doing this and why are you doing it this way?

Unfortunately, this work is underfunded and it is exemplified by additional marginalized identities. As trans and non-binary people continue to be erased and attacked in this country and across the world, I can’t help but see how shame is the common destructive force at work in these currents of violence. I have been sitting with my role, responsibility, and commitment to the community and the movement, and it always leads back to breaking the silence through ritual. Poetry is ritual. Conversation is ritual. Performance is ritual. Your unique expression and embodiment is ritual.

Whether you identify as trans, non-binary, gender non-conforming, or spiritual isn’t as important as your belief in a world where shame is eradicated.
