Relearning Place Convening

Tax deductible
Story

As you read this, the land beneath you is holding you up. What is your relationship with that land like? Regardless of any differences, all of the people on this Earth have a connection to place; whether it's a place you love, a place you belong to, a place of community or culture. This sense of place is central to our lives as humans. Many humans go through our lives never considering our sense of place. This lack of consideration can lead to mindless, unintentional patterns of harm and violence. Conversely, an intentional and grounded relationship with land can heal many of the wounds that we carry, ecological, interpersonal, racial, and more. For this reason and many others, we are convening for a deep conversation about the concept of place and what responsibilities we carry. By engaging and contributing to this work, we are supporting each other, our communities, and the earth that holds us, feeds us, and is calling out to heal us.

We have the energy and the skills to organize this event. We have the staffing, and the initial responses from our broader communities have been very excited. Unfortunately, many of the people who can offer the most to this convening, and who need it the most, face real financial and logistical barriers to attending. For this convening to be grounded, we must address these barriers.

Your support for this event will help bring the people together who want to be at this event. This is an opportunity for you to contribute to our collective healing, foster deeper relationship with land, and uplift the growth and leadership of people of color. This is a way you can participate in the practice of reciprocity. The work we will engage in during this convening will inform how we build movements and relationships with our communities and partners into the future. By financially supporting and contributing to the Relearning Place Convening we can grow our vision. Your support will help eliminate barriers to attendance and participation in the impactful work of the Relearning Place Program. This convening represents a moment and an opportunity to shift resources to Black, Indigenous, and other individuals of color and their communities. All contributions are welcome and encouraged and some of the sharing below related to costs and levels of giving are offered in the spirit of living values and of transparency.
