Re-Launch of Sistah’s Vegan in California

Sistah’s Vegan is committed to offering a variety of plant based foods that are delicious and nutritious. Our products are vegan and gluten free. They are sweetened with agave so they do not spike the Glycemic Index. And they are low in salt. Our Mission is to “Combat chronic diseases like heart disease, diabetes and cancer with the essentials of plant based nutrition and diet therapy.”

I have been a registered nutritionist since 2001 and a vegan since 1977. I have also owned and operated Sistah’s Vegan’s Restaurant since 2005. Opening first on the Southside of Chicago in the Beverly community, and than moving to Arcata, California.

Business had been growing year over year and than the Pandemic hit and no matter how we tried we could not find our way clear. Years of hard work and dedication went right down the drain despite are gallant efforts. Than our food truck was broken into and vandalized for the fourth time. Someone decided they needed our catalytic converter more than we did. And the topper was when I fell off the food truck and broke my arm in several places.

Now that things have begun to settle and my health and body is back in tack, I would love to reopen my business in California. Health and wellness has always been my calling and my job is and always will be to feed JAH’s people. With your support we can get back to doing what we do best. And that is to change lives and lifestyles one dish at a time. There can be no community without unity.
