Dear Friends and Family,
My dear husband, a talented author and composer who has written over 1,660 songs and over twenty plays and screenplays, was diagnosed with brain cancer in early July 2018. For his work he goes by the name of Reinaldo Garcia.
In early July of 2018 I took my husband to Stanford where doctors found 12 tumors in his brain, two tumors in his left lung, and a tumors in his left hip and upper left leg. Additionally, he has a blood clot in this right thigh.
In early August he completed a series of radiation or "Cyberknife" treatments for the brain tumors and is currently being treated with cutting edge Target Therapy for the tumors in his body.
Reinaldo is in great spirits and we are confident that he will recover. Unfortunately, the cancer treatments come with unexpected expenses, which include medications, monthly tests, doctors, consultations, PET scans and MRI scans every three months, plus unexpected additional treatments. For example, this October three new small brain tumors were found, for which a new three day round of Cyberknife radiation treatments at Stanford were required.
He and I feel very fortunate that we live so relatively close to Stanford (a five hour round trip), and are managing this crucible with great love and confidence.
Our goal is to raise $50,000 to support Reinaldo and his family.
