Hi, I'm Josh! As many of you know, I'm chasing a lifelong dream—turning my passion for racing into reality by competing at prestigious events like the World Time Attack Challenge (WTAC) in Sydney, Australia
My Journey in Motorsport
Racing has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. It all began when my uncle passed down a go-kart for my brother and me to share. That kart became our gateway into competitive motorsport, and I’ve been hooked ever since.
Some highlights from my early racing career include:
Achievements: From pole positions and heat wins to race and event victories at both local and state levels.
Sponsorships: Obtained several key sponsors that provided essential support, advancing my karting career
Opportunities Abroad: Offered the chance to race open-wheelers overseas. Unfortunately, I couldn’t secure the funds to take that next big step.
Despite financial challenges, I stayed in the game for as long as possible, driven by my unwavering love for the sport.
A Challenging Setback
In 2016, my racing career came to an unexpected halt. I broke my hand just before the start of the season and required surgery to have a pin inserted. Losing my sponsorship as a result, I had to sit out the year.
Later, complications with my initial surgery required a second operation with a larger pin and a bone graft. These setbacks, combined with changes in racing regulations and no sponsorship backing, forced me to retire from competing.
Reigniting My Passion
Fast forward to today: after years away from the track, working full-time in software development, I’ve decided it’s time to return to what I love most.
Motorsport isn’t just a hobby for me, it’s my passion and purpose. Driving Japanese and European cars, watching Formula 1, and attending WTAC every year since 2013 have kept the fire alive. Now, I’m more determined than ever to get back on track.
What is WTAC?
The World Time Attack Challenge is an internationally renowned motorsport event held annually at Sydney Motorsport Park. It’s the pinnacle of time attack racing, where highly modified cars compete to set the fastest single-lap time.
The event attracts teams, drivers, and enthusiasts from around the globe and is streamed worldwide. It’s a celebration of car culture, engineering, and raw performance.
The next WTAC is due to be held around September/October 2026, and I’m working tirelessly to ensure I’m ready to compete.
Why I Need Your Support
Pursuing this dream on a single income is a challenge. Building a competitive car, paying for entry fees, travel, and equipment all adds up.
That’s why I’m asking for your help.
Recently, I took a major step forward by purchasing a 2012 Subaru Impreza WRX STI, the foundation for my journey toward competing at the World Time Attack Challenge 2026 and beyond. Over the past nine months, I’ve installed a roll cage and begun modifying the car, which culminated in our first track day in September at Winton Motor Raceway.
How Your Support Will Help
Every dollar you contribute will bring me closer to this dream. Here is a couple of examples of how your donations will be used:
Car Upgrades: Dyno tuning, Aerodynamic parts, Larger rims to accommodate WTAC’s control tires.
Safety Equipment: HANS device, FIA approved helmet, 5/6 point harness (all essential for competing).
Entry Fees: Reducing the cost of participating at WTAC.
Travel & Accommodation: Travel to Sydney and accommodation
Additional performance and bodywork upgrades will be funded by me as I prepare the car over the end of year break.
Competing outside of WTAC
While the World Time Attack Challenge is the ultimate stage for time attack racing, the 2026 plan also includes competing at the state level in three rounds of Aus Time Attack at Winton Motor Raceway. These events will serve as valuable preparation and shakedown opportunities for the car ahead of the World Time Attack Challenge later in the year.
Join Me on This Journey
Your support means the world to me. Whether it’s through a donation, sharing this campaign, or simply taking the time to read my story.
Together, we can prove it’s never too late to chase your passion.
Thank you for being part of my journey!
