My name is Devan, and I’m raising $10,000 to buy an RV/camper. I have a cat who means everything to me, and I cannot part with her. We are currently separated because I lost my housing, and I could not bring her with me. My girlfriend is going to keep her until I get back on my feet. I have someone who will agree to let me park an RV/camper on their property and pay rent, but I need housing soon. If you donate it will contribute to the roof over my head. I’ve had my cat, Tai, since she was 3 weeks old, and she is my whole world. I want to have her with me, and if I have my own RV then I can. This will ensure that I have finally secured stable housing, and can begin building a life for myself in California.

Here’s a little about me:

I only have one semester left of college, but I had to take a break due to finances. My mom died when I was about 6 and my dad was never around, so I was raised by my grandma. Until my mom passed, I lived with her and my older sister, Adara. Shortly after we lost our mom, however, my sister’s dad chose to move her out to California and we saw each other twice in 11 years. I moved from Mississippi to California to be closer to my sister in 2019, and I have worked for Sisters of the Valley on and off since then. I’m working part time as a behavioral therapist and part time as a house cleaner for Sisters of the Valley. The funds donated will be used to purchase an RV/camper. Nothing fancy, just liveable for my cat and I.
