This morning I got one of the scariest phone calls of my life. My mother and brother had nearly escaped from a house fire with their lives, this is their story...
At 5:30 this morning my brothers attention was caught by my mother screaming and pounding on the walls down stairs. Upon opening his bedroom door he was shocked to hit a wall of smoke. He came running down the stairs hardly able to see through the smoke to find flames shooting up from behind the counter and stove. He attempted to use the hose to put out the fire but was met with no water pressure. After getting his friend to call 911 he was able to locate my mother and physically drag her out of the home and to safety. Moments after they got out of the house it was engulfed leaving them, homeless, clothes-less, phone-less, and devastated.
The fire has claimed everything they own. They walked away with the clothes on their backs and their lives. The are in desperate need of basic necessities like clothes and shoes as well as completely starting over. If you would like to help in any way our family would be eternally grateful. Below are their sizes if you can't afford to donate money but maybe have some extra items you could spare. Also if you happen to have and old straight talk or verizon phone laying around collecting dust that you would like to donate I would really appreciate it. It makes me really nervous to not be able to call my mom and check in.

There are so many things we can never replace but the fire can't take our memories. For now Carol is at Springfield Memorial Hospital until the doctors think she can be released. Thank you for taking the time to read their story and for any kind of contribution you are able to make. Even just sending love is appreciated.
All my love,
