Rehome Stolen or Pawned Diné Antique
Yá'át'ééh I am Rya Hueston and I am Nat'oh dine'e Tachii'nii Ashiihi from Navajo Mtn, UT.
my family’s pieces were stolen when my grandfather was kidnapped from a sing in 1930 and sent to the Tuba City Indian School for forced assimilation by the police.
I’ve since grown obsessed with acquiring antique pieces from my tribes (Hopi/Navajo) that we’re not meant for tourists (people outside the tribe to wear due to the intent while the piece was being made, which is protection)
jewelry in my family is passed down through the matriarch. As a queer trans WOC I have made my own family.
my feelings are complicated and this is by no means a necessity for living but is priceless culturally.
