Klaudia was born with a serious heart defect. In the following weeks, she had to undergo her first surgery, and 13 years later, another. Apart from exercise restrictions, our daughter functioned normally – just like her peers. She was very cheerful and sociable, and surrounded by many friends. She dreamed of becoming a cardiologist and helping other children with heart disease. We hoped the worst was behind her...

Shortly afterward, we moved to the UK and continued treatment there. After consultations, it turned out that another procedure would be necessary – a heart valve replacement. This surgery was supposed to be a huge step forward for Klaudia and help her overcome her limitations once and for all. Unfortunately, it turned out differently!

During the operation, there was a stroke and a cerebral haemorrhage. We were in shock... After all, all this was supposed to help our daughter regain her health, not completely destroy it! As a result, she was paralyzed, and it wasn't until a month later that we were able to reconnect with her.



As soon as possible, we began the difficult fight to regain her former mobility – first at a rehabilitation clinic, and later at home. We did everything we could to help our Klaudia, who had to relearn everything... We remember the moment she finally managed to sit up in her wheelchair on her own. It was a huge success for all of us!

However, our daughter still has a long and difficult road ahead of her. She's currently learning to walk. Unfortunately, her left arm is completely disabled, and she can only attend school twice a week for three hours. She can no longer sit in her wheelchair, and she tires easily. She requires our 24/7 care – she can't get dressed or eat a meal without us. She also has vision problems.

Despite what's happened to her, Klaudia refuses to give up; she still wants to become a doctor and help others. But before that happens, she'd like to be independent – ​​to make herself a sandwich or go to the bathroom on her own. That's her big dream now! However, for all of this to come true, intensive, long, and very expensive rehabilitation under the supervision of specialists is necessary. This is the only way she can keep fighting!
