Rehabilitation for Brigitte Sherrer

On December 17, 2020, our mother, Brigitte Sherrer suffered a stroke that caused her to lose most major functions on the left side of her body. Due to an extensive hospital stay and lack of medical insurance at this time, we are financially challenged and unable to get her the professional rehabilitation and the type of care she needs to avoid two major risks. The immediate risk being a second stroke and the next is missing a rehabilitation window of time that would effectively correct the affected parts of her body.

Brigitte has been a educator to small children for more than 20 years, a devoted wife and mother. She has deep ties to her College Park, Ga community. On Dec 27 2019, almost a year earlier, she lost the love of her life (our father) after 40 years of marriage and due to his untimely death, she was faced with financial hardships and health insurance, like many other obligations, had to take a back seat.

Suffering a stroke in this extremely tense time in our country, during a worldwide pandemic and still grieving the loss of our father, the Sherrer family is in the fight of our lives and we are at a point of asking for any help we can get. All three of her daughters have done their best to mimic the responsibilities of trained medical professionals but this has proven itself to be way out of our league. Love and YouTube tutorials are just not enough to properly take care of a loved one.

The cost of medical bills from the hospital total at about $12,000 and the minimum 14 day stay in a rehab facility is roughly $8,000. This will provide mom with around the clock care, food and treatment to get her back to some bit of normalcy and it is our belief that she will make a full recovery. This money will also, help with doctor prescribed medications that can get costly as well.
