Rehabilitation and Recovery for Sharon Webb

Donation protected

Hello.

My name is Jeromy Fielder, and my Aunt is Sharon Webb.

As you may know, on October 5, 2018, Sharon fell in her home and broke her hip. Unable to move or call for help, she laid alone on the floor for almost 10 hours, when a concerned coworker went by to check on her.

Rushed to the hospital, she underwent surgery to repair her hip which included the placement of a metal rod to replace femur. After battling pneumonia and several unexpected and frightening issues with her heart, Sharon was eventually released from the hospital and moved to a rehabilitation center in Dallas.

Sadly, she failed to thrive in that environment.

On January 9th it was 120-days since the accident—a date that brought with it serious implications as it marked the end of her limited health insurance coverage. While the goal remains to get Sharon back on her feet and back home, those of us closest to her feel she hasn’t progressed enough at this point to return home.

That said, our family made the difficult decision to move Sharon on January 13th from the rehabilitation center to an assisted living facility in North Dallas while we prepare for a speedy transition to home health care.

A Leap of Faith
The current plan is to hire a physical therapist and secure a team of caregivers in order to bring Sharon home. Additional expenses include home health care equipment and supplies that will enable her to move forward in an environment that will provide the hope, healing, and motivation she needs to turn a corner in her rehabilitation.

Ultimately, we hope that given sufficient time and support Sharon can make a full recovery.

However, we can’t do this alone. We need your help.

During these past months, many friends and business associates have inquired as to Sharon’s condition and how they may help. She is much loved and respected in both personal and professional circles and has helped so many over the years.

In fact, for those of you affiliated with the Nathaniel Fellowship, Bethany Center, and/or Dr. Victoria Sarvadi Ministries, are you aware that it was Sharon who convinced Victoria to start a home-based Bible study over a decade ago?

Victoria  shared how she met Sharon in her memoir, Just a Little Girl and recalls it again in her letter below…

The Power of One Voice
"I met Sharon Webb in 2008 when my husband and I decided to upgrade our home in McKinney. Deeply connected to the home design and construction community, Sharon seemed to know everybody.

In retrospect, it’s impossible for me to deny that Sharon was a messenger—a conduit if you will—sent by God to direct me on the path He always planned for me to walk.

As we traveled all over the city to visit vendors and contractors, our conversations would often go to the Bible and the Jewish theology of Yeshua. There’s no mistaking that I am passionate about the topic—and Sharon was genuinely interested—not just being polite. Clearly, she was hungry to know more. In fact, she began to strongly encourage me to have a home Bible study.

“Please, Victoria. You have to share your knowledge with others…”

“I hardly know anyone in the area,” I said.

“I will get people there if you agree to teach,” she replied.

I told her I would pray about it.

After a tumultuous season in ministry, I had finally reached a glorious peace in my faith walk, and I was uncertain if I was ready to jump back in to the fray.

However, Sharon’s innocent request to start a home Bible study reignited my passion. Her searing questions, undeniable hunger, and open heart drove me to keep an open mind and explore the possibilities.

One day, Sharon asked me how non-Jews first learned about the Torah—and suddenly Pandora’s box was flung wide open.

The more I visited with Sharon, the more she wanted to know.

And the more I studied and prayed, the more convicted I became.

I sensed I was being called to share the Jewish Jesus—Yeshua—in a new way—a fresh way, to teach others about our Jewish roots in a way that was unlike that of traditional teachers and scholars.

Sharon’s request was granted in the spring of 2008 when our weekly fellowship was founded.

Today, after a decade, the Nathaniel Fellowship is thriving.

And it all began with the hungry heart of a woman who wanted to know more.

A woman who in both personal and professional circles gives much and asks for little in return.

Could this be our time to give back to her?"

A Call to Action
Whatever your connection to my Aunt Sharon, my family and I ask that you please stop at this moment and say a prayer for her—and us as we step out in faith to provide for her needs during this challenging season.

As you can imagine, the increasing financial responsibility is daunting, a fact that led us to establish this GoFundMe Campaign. We thank Dr. Victoria and Paul Sarvadi and a core group of Sharon’s friends including Joshua Christian, Sherri Green-Smith and Allison Bottke who have supported us in this effort.

For those who wish to help Sharon in her recovery, we ask that you pray for Godly discernment considering any financial contributions you feel called to donate. And we thank you in advance for your prayers and generosity.

We also ask that if you know of someone in the community who has worked with Sharon over her years in business, that you please share a link to this Go Fund Me Campaign page.

With deep appreciation,
