Rehabilitating Homeless dogs in Mexico City

Hello! My name is Luke Tyler,

I am 11 years old and I’m a 5th grade honor roll student at Lakeway Elementary. I am on a competitive swim team here in Lakeway and I’m a volunteer with our local TNR( Trap Neuter and Release) program  as well. I have completed a Summer course as a junior volunteer dolphin trainer in Cabo San Lucas and return every year to play with my dolphin friends. I have been offered an internship as a junior volunteer with the internal medicine team at the San Antonio Zoo this summer. When I grow up, I would like to be a Veterinarian or a Marine Biologist. For now, I’m helping out the communities wherever I go. But someday when I become a Vet, I will be able to volunteer as a Veterinarian in different countries wherever I visit. This summer, I will be traveling to Mexico City with my parents. I have been there a few times and have noticed a huge population of homeless dogs on the streets. I found a non profit organization called “La Casa del Mestizo”. This organization Rescues and Rehabilitates dogs who have been abandoned and are malnourished. They have an Instagram account (casadelmestizo) as well as a Facebook account (La Casa del Mestizo) with all of the animals in which they have rescued off the streets. Currently, they have 200 dogs. The shelter is actually a private home of a woman who has spent over 20 years rescuing street dogs. Many have other issues than just being homeless. Since the pandemic, the number of homeless street dogs have skyrocketed. Currently they are in need of dog food and vet costs as they are behind on outstanding vet bills. My goal is raise 1,500 dollars to help cover both costs for food and Vet visits. Even 1 dollar or 50 cents goes a long way. Will you please help me raise money by donating anything you can? I will share pictures when I return. Thank you so much!
