Ben’s ashes were returned to the earth by the ancient Sitka spruce stumps at Neskowin Beach on January 25th, 2026. This was a place that offered Ben peace during his life and hopefully will offer him peace now.
In honor of his life in Portland, we would like to have a city park bench rehabilitated and dedicated in his name. Through the city of Portland’s Legacy Giving Program, we are asking for donations to refurbish an existing bench ($5000) with a plaque ($300).
It will be a place where we can visit Ben, maybe have a conversation with him, and reflect on all that he brought to our lives.
